I Challenge You!!!!!

As the new year approaches I am already thinking about what some of my personal goals for 2012 will be.  I do not like calling them “New Years resolutions” I think when you label them like that you never stick to them.  I call them my yearly goals.  I have short term goals and long term goals.  They are challenging but achievable and realistic.  But something I plan to do differently this year from years in the past is to not have one single goal that has anything to do with how much I weigh, what my body fat % is, or anything pertaining to body image.  All my goals will be me DOING and ACCOMPLISHING something!  It doesn’t matter how much weight you lose, even if you reach your number goal you will always find something else you aren’t happy with when you look in the mirror.  To put all that hard work into something just to be displeased with the results is horrible.

I have reached those goals in the past and even though I was happy to have lost weight and gotten down to a certain size, I would always have something else to bitch about regarding my body.  But anytime I have ever set a goal where I actually have to DO something and I DID it I have felt like a million bucks.  If you set a goal to do 10 real on your toe push ups and you accomplish that goal no one can take that away from you, even yourself!  You did it, you did all 10 push ups!!!!!!  The accomplishment you feel from doing that will have you on cloud nine.

I feel like our society focuses so much on how we look, how much we weigh, what clothes look best, who has the prettiest hair and make -up, which guy has the biggest fullest chest, and all that means what exactly?  What the hell does that mean?  Perfection means jack shit!  The people you perceive as perfect probably have some of the worst self esteem issues ever!

So this year my challenge to myself and to all of my clients and to everyone reading this is…..  Make a goal or multiple goals in 2012 that have absolutely nothing to do with body image, looks, weight, body fat, BMI, none of it!  Make a DO SOMETHING GOAL!!!!!  Write it down, tell your friends, post it on facebook, blow up Twitter with it and then work towards making it happen.  And when you accomplish that goal, reward yourself with something you have been wanting for awhile.

Strong is sexy!!!!!!!
